Title:HCS Trainer- Residential

Description:

Will be responsible for providing care to the consumers who live in the HCS residential homes. Is responsible for maintaining the residential homes, monitoring for safety hazards, and keeping the home in good repair. Will work in planning activities to encourage consumers to access community services, provide transportation, transportation of consumers may require using your personal vehicle, assist with household chores, medication monitoring, rehabilitation training, incident reports, Behavior Therapy Programs and other duties as recommended by the consumers interdisciplinary team. Demonstrates the ability to effectively work with others. Provides quality documentation in all paper work. Hours will be days, evening, nights and weekends. Position may float to other homes, areas or shifts as needed. Will demonstrate ability to organize a 40-hour a week schedule that is flexible in providing service to the consumers as the need changes. Is required to follow all regulations of the HCS standards. Works directly under the supervision of the HCS supervisor for Residential Services.

Qualifications (Education & Experience): High School diploma or equivalency. Experience working with person with mental retardation is perferred.  Must have current Texas driver's license and qualify for Center insurance coverage.  Must be 18 years of age. Basic computer skills required.  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.  Must be able to read and write clearly.  Must have good communication skills both orally and written.  Must be caring, patient, dependable and honest.  Must have the ability to cook.  Must be a person with ability to work a flexible schedule (willing to work other days, hours and shifts as needed).  Expierience working with persons with intellecutal and developmental disability is preferred.  Experience working at Abilene State School is preferred.

 

Salary:$1795.81 per month
Hours:Two shifts available: 4PM to 12AM shift and Swing Shift. Must be willing to work all shifts as needed, however.
